Had fun outing shoot with my dear friends from Miri, Robert & Francisca followed by two buddies Hun & Jenny. It was Robert's birthday trip to KK. We had the most expensive tea time during the shoot in the hotel. RM100 plus for 5 juices and a sandwich plate. Thanks to Hun for the generous treat. ;) It was raining while we having our photo shoot. Almost wanted to call it off but we just continue with whatever situation we were given. I knew this couple when I worked in Digi previously. Thanks for choosing me to be your official photographer for your wedding day. It was a great day especially the groom going through "fear factor" challenge eating bugs.

It was my first time having to shoot this event in Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) wedding ceremony. Very interesting wedding ceremony experiencing different culture.

The groom also a Mini Austin lover and converted his baby to a guide car for the wedding car. Very nice looking classical vehicle. I once love the new model Mini but the cost of it is much more expensive in Malaysia compare to other country.

Dinner reception is held in Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Hotel followed by their underwater wedding ceremony video clip. Such a memorable wedding event having your wedding vows under the water with fishes around you!!! (I must continue to remind myself to try scuba diving, hehe)

Just attended my ex-cell group leader in GCC Alice & Chee Wee wedding the very next day after my assignment.

Such a blast! Wedding never fail to put a smile on me no matter how tiring I am.

Today IceCream Sunday in Glory Kids is just awesome. Every children was so hyper and all out to praise and worship God. Their smile never stop to make me smile. Today lesson is, "don't think you are better than others". It's all about pride. All of us have it, whether how big is the pride we all can judge for our self and God knows.

A second attempt time lapse recording of Doulos Ship from another angle. This time I was company by Kelvin & Jeffrey. Doulos Ship - Twilight Time lapse at Kota Kinabalu Port. Finally, my mood has come for me to try out Time Lapse for the first time on my Nikon D300. Didn't flip any manual book for it and I managed to capture 170 frames or more pics and made this 24secs video. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoy staying with my camera for an hour plus by myself. :)

Early this month I just assisted Melvin in his latest project on Porgie's clothing next season catalog. The venue for this shoot is in various locations like Novotel, Vedablu, Helipad landing, outdoors and indoors at One Borneo Mall, Sabah. The uprising mall in Kota Kinabalu for now while others (KK Times, Harbour City, Mega Long) booming along.

The process was just awesome. We worked round the clock for almost full 12 hours. Phew, time flew when its a passion job! But I know my brother Melvin has truly do a lot of late nights homework to create that awesome catalog pictures. I saw the raw pictures and its just blow my socks off. Get ready girls, ladies and cross dressers because the catalog will blow your skirts up. Hehe.

Farewell Dinner at Doulos for Nubia

Doulos (books on ship) landed on Kota Kinabalu Sabah custom port! Almost every Sabah Photographers lurking to the place to take pictures of the awesome ancient ship which is only 2 years younger than Titanic Ship.

It was great meeting new friends but it is also sad to know that our new friend has to leave the week after.

Our sister Nubia has been a missionary since very young and she is from Brazil. She been on Doulos Ship (GBA - Good Books All) for 8 months and she been serving on Logos II, Logos Hope and Doulos with a total of 2yrs plus already. More information about the ship can be found on here http://www.omships.org/. Her next journey is China! Imagine that, a Brazilian lady travel to China while some of us Chinese in Malaysia never touch China ground before.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures of friends around the world celebrating farewell for our dear sister Nubia with her Brazilian cooked meals. Yummy yum yum! Delicious!

She has been treating us good lunch also when we first visited the ship after our island trip!

Tomorrow I will be on Doulos again for a dinner meal.

Glory Kids GCC Merdeka Celebration

In Glory Kids Church we celebrated Merdeka day of our national independence day in Malaysia! The 52nd birthday of our beloved country. We may not be perfect and we may not be the best. But every little thing that we do today contribute to our future. Our children might be little today but they are genuine in their hearts. They will be our future leaders that will either lead us in new ideas or expand our ideas today. :)

Bigger is better? No its not. Little things can be more genuine that the bigger things. Our little children maybe small today but every little contribution they do is appreciated by God and one day they will do greater things than most of us today. Amen.

Roberto Trip to KK

An old friend of mine from Marketing & E-Commerce came from Miri, Sarawak to Kota Kinabalu for a trip. So happy to catch up with Roberto who brought me for tea time in Perth, Australia 3years ago with his Nissan Skyline GTR which I heard is a wreck after he sold it to a China guy. Two local people stole the car from the China guy house and smashed the whole car to total damage few days later. Sigh...

Our wonderful bro and sis got married! so happy for them. Basically they are my first few brother and sister in Christ when I just started believe in Christ years ago in Glory Youth GCC Kota Kinabalu which become Discovery club now. ;)

Time really flew and I'm so happy after many many years together they have tied the knots. It's not easy to be together after so many years dating, it takes understanding and mutual feelings for each others. No selfishness and patience to build. I'm truly happy to see they finally gotten each other. There are so many professional photographers and videographers around to capture the wedding ceremony too!

Its my first time to the Sabah Cultural Hall in Penampang, its very cozy and air conditioned which is big enough to contain a village residents. Overall, everyone really enjoyed themselves. Maybe its the great wines, Chivas and Black Label shared across the tables. Our dear bro Marcus love it. Hehe. We keep on accusing each other who is being drunk.

1) Daniel and Olivia in a traditional costume of Kadazan. Aren't they lovely? Michelle is the sister next to me. I remembered all of us went for Youth Camp in Kokol Hill years ago. It was revival for me when holy laughter and crying were overflow, great dramas performance and magnificent view of the green Borneo.

2) Ivan my dearest brother and his girl friend. I remembered we watch stars together during our youth camp near Kundasang. We all have grown up indeed. Cheers.

The making of a good picture

We went out and hunt for that good picture for iStockphoto. We have to do things not every Sabah photographer like to do. Which is getting dirty and sweaty. I once remembered Louis shared with us a good photograph comes from 20% creativity and 80% perspiration. No good works come only through clicking the shutter and expect creativity being produce.

So this is what Melvin and me did which is to get dirty our self in order to get those pretty picture in the heart of Borneo jungle.

Well our handsome model here is Jeremiah and he is great in natural posing.
The pictures below are taken by my camera phone so bear with me and enjoy our process in order to find that good image.

Star Wars Experience!

Almost every one fall into the category of Star Wars era. Including me myself, I'm a bit of a Star Wars fan boy. I may not know every names, every spaceships details, aliens languages or how to use the force. But there is the touch of the movie that brought the experience of the future into my mind.

When I was in Melb, there was this Star Wars Show in the Sciencework museum. My first intention was just to see the science wonders and not Star Wars due to price of the ticket is a bomb! In my mind I already persuaded myself its just some simple showcase of Star Wars stuff. Don't be a sucker and pay extra for it. Don't be a sucker. Don't be a sucker.

Suddenly there is this character from the Star Wars came out (which I don't know what character is that). I asked Angela to take a snap of me and the alien. After that I'm poisoned! I must go, I told Angela I changed my mind. We must go to the Star Wars section as well!

I spent my childhood time again with all the children and also adults amazed at all the actual sizes of sabers, laser guns, costumes from episodes 1,2,3,4,5 & 6. Even models from Death Star, speedcar, and spaceships. I spent hours there while Angela had to hold the camera and take pictures for me. Thanks Love!

I missed the wedding event already after it was over. But I was very excited before it begin. Such a mixed feelings. LOL.
However, this couple is such a lovely lovebirds and made it easy for me to photograph them. Their feeling for each others are so awesome!

I hope they don't mind me sharing a bit about what the groom shared during the dinner.
The boy is born in HK and stayed in UK. The girl is from Malaysia and Travel & Work program in UK. They met each other in UK and fallen in love with each other. However the girl had to return back to Malaysia soon and the boy is to left in UK. The boy still want to pursue the relationship and do not want to let go her. So he decided to flew all over to Sabah and married his beloved to bring her back. How sweet is this boy?!

Did I mention he had to taste (challenge) our delicious Durian? He can't take it but his whole relatives including his mom love it. His mom even had to pay him to try it. LOL.

Enough storytelling and let the pictures do it telling this time. "Picturetelling".

It has been a great holiday with my dearest. Melbourne is such a wonderful city and not to forget the wonderful people and artworks around it. It just takes my breathe away. No wonder people would not leave and stay back here.

Just to show you all how nice this place is, let me show you wonderful friends I made during the trip.

Tabin Wildlife Resort

A prize winning trip I won last year. Indeed, I learn one thing is "anticipation behavior"! Its so powerful that every little animals that we spotted is so awesome compare to many hundreds animals in a zoo. Wow, anticipation behavior is something new I learnt in Tabin.

Its located near Lahad Datu (1hr 30mins drive).

Its a combination of animals watching, learning bout natures, volcano mud trekking, waterfall trekking and bonding with my bro Joseph and Cyrus.

The place is surrounded by palm oil plantation only but the size of Tabin is twice the size than Singapore is an awesome place for animal watching as they are all located here.

-2hrs trek in with many rivers crossing and leeches encounter. But it only took us 20mins to trek out back to our resort.

Encounter Wild Borneo at its best! An enormous dipterocarp rainforest located in the eastern part of Sabah, Tabin Wildlife Reserve has a hugely diverse range of flora and fauna. Due to the large numbers of animal species inhabiting its 120,500 hectares of protected forest area, including some highly-endangered ones, it was declared a ‘wildlife reserve’, playing an important role as a safe breeding ground for Sabah’s endangered wildlife and protected mammals. Tabin has several interesting mud volcanoes which provide mineral salts for the wild animals, as well as three of the largest land mammals of Sabah, the Borneo Pygmy Elephant, the Sumatran Rhino and the Tembadau.

Dear Earth Citizens,

What we give to the earth, the earth will give back to us.

Remember this, changes must start from us and not from nature adapting to us. Nature can only last how long depending on how long we can let them to survive. Earth is getting worse day by day with our own hands.

Not many has the power to change but for those who can, please contribute change. Whatever habits we change a bit will contribute to that 4 degree of reduce to the heavy load earth is currently taking. Little things that we willing to sacrifice or let go can help earth relieve a bit in the long run. For example, if we willing to lower down 1 degree water heater of our daily shower can contribute to drop of power consumption in a year and even our electric bill.

Please consider every actions we taken for granted and the load of our mother nature is taking. Every action makes a difference for our future generation.

Wow... time flew.. it has come to two years working with Digi faithfully and I learned a lot. I saw friends come and go and yet I stayed with Digi till today.

Guess its time for me to share why 2 years... cos the freaking nature of life say so...

1-working two years in a company -means more stable and other companies might want to hire you.
2-working months in a company just ain't sufficient to gain more working exposure.
3-Digi is a pretty fun company to work in.
4-I'm pretty comfortable with how they pay me and the working culture pretty suits me and made me what I am today (a wedding, event, portrait photographer)

September the month of disaster that happen 7yrs ago. time flew after 911 incident and Mr Bush has been ruling US with an A for quite some time now.

I still remember 7years ago what I want and till today not yet get it... An Apple for myself. Not any ordinary fruit but a Macbook Pro.

I was so happy when I start to receive calls and sms from Zul & Sharon congratulating me. I didn't know bout it till I was driving down from Mount Kinabalu. My aunt even cut the article for me, thanks so much.
New Sabah Times will also be publishing the article around this week. Anyone buying and give me a copy?

Not forgetting also, I climbed Mount Kinabalu for the fourth time now... Still loving it. I climbed it with my dearest girlfriend. ;)

Not forgetting to mention I got 4th place in Auto Fair Lucky Draw in City Mall also. A Rice Cooker and Celcom(har? I work in DiGi lar) goodie bag.

Digital Photography Bootcamp by Louis Pang

-Beauty and the Beast.

Last Sunday I won 1st place for a digital photography bootcamp. I went with my church members and of course my dearest Angela.
It was really God's grace that I got it~ capturing this I have to wait for the nice horse to give me a good confident angle and posing the model at the same time.

Bottom line is I enjoyed the whole process and learning photography with Mr Louis. O ya, did i mention I won a helicopter ride as well... :)

Still very new to this but at least I gave it a try... A model photoshoot I did with my two friends. Thanks for letting me experimenting with this quad shots using multiple exposure. It was later combined with Photoshop. Erase here and there. Not so perfect. Something to start with~

Another wedding job done... phew...
For now, I still can keep count and remembered clearly my wedding jobs after experience with a handful of beautiful couples. However I do bumped into few friends who into this line forgotten their 1st few jobs on wedding day. It is really nice to shoot wedding where I can see many happy faces.

-tailing a wedding car is not my cup of tea~ however praise the Lord for the wonderful weather.

Now I understand why the movie Loose Change is out.
They are to let us know what really happen.
But I didnt know why till I watch another short film call Shock Doctrine.
They explained alot why Loose Change happen.

Why it happened?
-When a person is shocked its easier to influence.
-Shock can come from disaster, war or planned change.
-Change means power people can launch excuses to have oil war and etc.
